Sustainability is at the core of our designs and everything we do. Goleen Harbour Farm in West Cork is our home, we have planted a Native Woodland of over 10,000 trees, we produce Organic vegetables and Connemara Ponies. We run an EcoTourism business with a mix of activities and accommodation. Matt has been involved in education around sustainability and the environment for 15 years and has also led many environmental projects.
Our buildings use locally sourced materials such as the Douglas Fir and Larch cladding as much as possible. Energy efficiency thus reducing carbon emissions is a prime importance, we only use LED lighting and our structures use Passive House standard materials to give very high levels of air tightness and insulation.
We encourage the use of renewable energy and have experience in living off grid ourselves. What we don’t know we ask of the leading experts in Ireland who are our suppliers.
